This is such a great NPC test. When I asked someone the question maybe two years ago (I had heard it online), they couldn't even fathom an idea like this. Something something being able to ponder a thought without immediately making it your own or rejecting it. I believe few people can and the overlap of those who can't with the fully jabbed TV connoisseurs is substantial.
