This is where they theorize Lyme Disease was developed. Just for the lulz, take a gander at a map to verify proximity of Plum Island to East Lyme, CT - where Lyme Disease got its name. Been a while, but watched a vid on the topic a couple years back. If memory serves, birds carrying infected ticks was their initial vector hypothesis.
There's a good book called Lab 257 all about Plum Island. https://www.amazon.com/Lab-257-Disturbing-Governments-Laboratory-ebook/dp/B000YQHMFG
Thanks for the link!
Ordered. Thanks for the tip!
Nelson DeMille wrote a book called Plum Island as well. Good read.
Thank you. Also found this: The Lighthouse on Plum Island (Cobble Beach Romance Series Book 1)
JK :)
Started on the DeMille book today. (It arrived about three weeks ago) Can already tell I won't be able to put it down for long.
Thanks again for the recommendation!
They moved it to Kansas ( https://www.usda.gov/about-usda/general-information/initiatives-and-highlighted-programs/national-bio-and-agro-defense-facility), but one thing remained unchanged: bioweapon research is still funded as "agriculture's research".
