They despise anyone who is dumb enough to fall for their bullshit. They see them as sub human lesser beings and are therefore eligible for extermination without guilt, like you might harvest any other farm animal for whatever economic gain. Their followers are merely cattle, to be culled at the appropriate time. Taking the shot proves your cattle status. This way, they don't have to go through the process of sorting the worthy from the unworthy. Survival of the fittest is the only natural law they follow. There is no other morality to it. If you survive this culling this actually proves your worth to the future of humanity. They know the smartest of us can see them clearly for exactly what they are. They also know there are not so many of us. We are unlikely to stop them. They don't hate us. They see us as misguided but also worthy. They have said for decades that they were going to do this, and now they are doing this. They are become Thanos. A mythical being of their own creation. Cull the population to preserve the resources for the survivors. Then build a golden age. A new order. They wish to become immortal, lording over the mere mortals. These are the same people who deliberately created the millions of autistic children in a bid to acquire the powers of the savants for themselves. They already own most of the planet.
