For lack of a given title by its creator, Walker Percy, from his great book Love in the Ruins, in which the protagonist Dr. Thomas More (somewhat of an author surrogate) drinks, in the course of a day, no less than 16 gin fizzes (despite being allergic to egg white), "not to mention one Southern Comfort; three glasses of Tang with two duck eggs, two ounces of vodka and a dash of Tabasco, one Early Times and Coke, one duck egg flip (Worcestershire and vodka), and one buttermilk."
"three glasses of Tang with two duck eggs, two ounces of vodka and a dash of Tabasco" suggests a recipe of, per glass:
- 8 oz water
- 2 Tbsp Tang powder
- 2 oz vodka
- 2 duck eggs
- dash Tabasco
I wanted to make a triple so I used this:
- 20 oz water (left room for vodka instead)
- 6 Tbsp Tang powder
- 4 oz vodka (so it's a 2.5er not a triple!)
- 4 duck eggs (not just the whites! whole eggs)
- dash Louisiana Hot Sauce (because it's what I had)
Lessons learned: This is the second time I made this but I deleted the Voat post about it so couldn't look up my proportions. I also suggest using cold water (refrigerated) and very cold vodka. This time I also put the hot sauce on the top after pouring instead of blending it. Can't make a quadruple because it doesn't fit in my blender.
