So far so good. Always got to test things out to make sure everything works for a few hours(play games and demos), so far so good.

Is there not a way to replace those big blue things with something else that would age better?

The last caps lasted from 1984 until yesterday, and actually the ESR was legit on the couple that I tested. I replaced them with a higher quality and temperature tolerance since I was going to have to rework a few things on this board so why not. You could replace them with a polymer variant with an adapter I suppose.
