Heh, it actually all started with a bet back in 1996 between 3 friends and myself when we were on a software backup binge for a few winter months with all our floppy games (c64/pc/amiga/atari8bit). "who will have the last running c64?" Two down two to go. I am going to win that whatever we bet on, I think it was a six pack. On a side note, we were paranoid that our disks were going to rot any day so we built custom cables and controller adapters to image everything. Today I still have a shitload of disks that fire up no problem the oldest being my infocom collection. The drives however are a different story.

Well best of luck on that bet. image them onto what?

Flux files. They are a raw dump of the magnetic flux off of the floppy. From there you can make a compressed floppy image, for c64 it would be a ".d64".
