The nignogs that go eat this slop aren't there for seafood delicacies, you could pour frozen swill into a deep fryer and they'd still fight over it. Red Schlobster apparently hasn't figured this out yet, or they simply don't care.

After Red Lobster successfully charted the Chapter 11 waters, it sold to a new firm and ushered in a new CEO who has worked to turn around the seafood restaurant chain.

Maybe he negotiated bargain prices for Thai Union's surplus shrimp? That actually wouldn't be a bad strategy.
