We had a local entity terminate all of their employees at the start of the scamdemic. Not just "Ok, go home for two weeks and we'll see what happens," but terminate as in "you are no longer needed, goodbye."
Those people were all skilled technicians in their field, and many of them quickly found other jobs with similar industries or other players in their market. A couple months later entity realizes that people are still ordering product and they have no one to work with product. I was receiving desperate calls for positions at this company up until about last year - even had some recruiter argue with me about how perfect I was and how I could make as much as I do now with all the overtime they work.
The lulz were delicious, and I ate every one of them. I think they've finally managed to acquire enough staff, 6 years later.
