It is, but that only mean that if you accept cash, you have to accept all forms of approved cash. It doesn't mean that any given business has to accept it as payment.

If a business decides that chickens are the method of payment they will accept, then there's nothing prohibiting that they only accept chickens.

Cash is cash, but there's no federal law that say an entity has to accept it. The only thing the statement on a dollar means that if you accept cash, this note is legal tender, and that you have to accept it as payment.

A business can accept anything it wants as payment - except in communistic places like NYC that make demands.

If there's one place that I can see not accepting cash, it's crime city.
