It sounds like there might be some cause to suspect market manipulation, but it really seems like they're not doing anything wrong. They're just running slower than the market wishes they would run.

That's my take on the situation. Lumber prices are at record highs, meanwhile more and more loggers and truck drivers are going under. We've seen delivered log prices like this before but that was years ago when the cost of living, fuel, vehicle and business insurance, business licenses/registrations/permits, etc were all much much cheaper.

I've seen the trucking end get hit, so that makes sense it carries over. I can only say it's probably not going to get better any time in the near future - many things seem to be supply crunched right now.

I'm fortunate that it hasn't hit my particular section of electronics, but that just "hasn't hit yet." I suspect the chip shortages everyone is talking about will be affecting other markets before too much longer. Hope I'm wrong there.
