That jibes w my recollection. The beginning was pretty alright, but by the end the wtf was through the roof. Id enjoy rereading it though. I'll have to see if I can get my hands on a copy.

If you don't mind the Amazon monolith, I'd say give whatever version they've got for an audiobook a shot. The voice work really does sell it more than reading might.
