I'm like halfway though "House Atreides" and I'm getting a fan fiction type vibe. It's a lot of fan service and over explanation of character motives. Over all seems rather weak. Maybe I'm not giving it a fair shake. I've put it down.

Shame, the ending left a lot to be explored, would have liked to see where that could have gone if developed by a decent author.
