I'm like halfway though "House Atreides" and I'm getting a fan fiction type vibe. It's a lot of fan service and over explanation of character motives. Over all seems rather weak. Maybe I'm not giving it a fair shake. I've put it down.

He doesn't seem very interested in finishing it anyways.

I never actually read much of it. I started the first book and it was almost verbatim the show, so I lost interest.
