This is a fairly good series. It outlines a emergent AI created from a text prediction engine. If you look at when it was published and line up news articles of the same time Google and several other major tech companies were doing the things in the book shortly after the book was released.
Ex. Google coming out to say we need a "AI Killswitch".
Its a easy read and interesting.
