Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury pdf (secret-satire-society.org).

The characters are thin as is usual with science fiction, Ray Bradbury found writing novels almost impossible to do, and the weakness shows in this piece which is lacking in scope and evolution .. Bradbury's short stories ooze whimsy like dripping boils however whimsy is a poor fuel with which to power a full novel.

Especially when it is a single whimsical concept, it is best to look upon this novel as a kind of fairy tale or parable, where you don't ask for too much plausibility and simply take the author's message for what it may be worth, Bradbury is saying love of books is important more important indeed than efficiency or hard nosed realism. I read the book early on, it was very famous in its day maybe because the Zionist come CIA publishers wanted it to be .. there were some good passages however I got bogged down about halfway thru, I had read plenty of RB's short stories and thought they were middlin' level ok, each to his own I guess.

I thought it read like a screenplay. Something you would see in an Alfred Hitchcock show or perhaps "The Twilight Zone". Good start and a great idea, but mediocre at best.

It's a middle school level book, for sure. I always thought it was weird the people in the beetle didn't run him over because he layed flat in the road. That still doesn't make sense? Maybe they thought it would roll or lose control?

I do want a mechanical hound to chase down my enemies, though.

The TV wall and the earbuds that kept everyone distracted definitely panned out accurately today. What Bradbury didn't anticipate is that people would be throwing books away voluntarily. They don't even need to be burned.
