I don't understand how this isn't obvious to everybody. Buy your music, movies, and books on read-only physical media. Back up your data locally. The "cloud" is only good as a secondary backup if you store it encrypted (meaning you encrypted it manually before upload, not you trust the cloud provider to encrypt it).
