Lol - my parents did this too. The lower level had asbestos tile over cement floors. Think I turned out ok anyway. Mostly?

Yah my house has asbestos on the upstairs floors. As long as you don't disturb it, the asbestos in clay binder is harmless.

I remember painting my nana's house with asbestos shingles. The aunt that got the house in the will was told it was cheaper to leave it in place than removing because of 100% recovery regulation(s).

Linoleum was made famous by the Emperor of Austria/Hungary when it was used to floor his bathroom. Pretentious housewives couldn't get enough of the stuff.

To be fair, it is easier to keep clean than hardwood so I give it a pass in bathrooms and kitchens.
