Having each side of the roof as a separate, disconnected, piece seems a strange decision. Sure, it might look cool, but it would significantly add to the amount of timber required to support each side, rather than joining them (even just the timber frames) to form a single frame. I could see this having issues in severe winds or if not maintained well.
