@Obrez
So the question has been brought up by folks who don't follow Fallout lore, or have played the games very deeply. I'll try to give a summary of everything I found wrong.
First off: Time frame. This series is set in 2293. Fine and dandy, except for the flash backs they use to hash out the story itself. During the 2277 time frame, Fallout 3 was taking place, and Fallout 2 had already taken place. New Vegas is set in 2281. This is all key. So the series claims that in 2277, the NCR's main hub, Shady Sands, took a nuke blast that crippled the NCR and severely weakened their ability and grasp within the region. This can not have happened for several reasons. First: There are mentions in California, and NCR throughout New Vegas. Nothing is mentioned about a nuke blast or the capital being destroyed. Second: The NCR, which claims to be on it's last legs after this attack, couldn't be the case since they fought not only 2 wars against Caesar's Legion, but also the Brotherhood of Steel (More on them in a minute.) They also fielded enough troops to loosely occupy a sizeable chunk of the New Vegas region and strip itself. Doesn't sound like a wounded faction. Third: It is said by Mr. House, traders from the west, and even NCR troops themselves, that what ails the faction is NOT a war itself or attack. It's being stretched too thin in an attempt to "manifest destiny" resources to keep their continuing glut of citizens happy and moving on.
Second: The series claims New Vegas is gone. Ruins. A possible ending given the time frame if either the Yes Man or Caesar's Legion endings are canonical. However: NONE of the New Vegas endings can have happened if the NCR had been weakened that badly since the ENTIRE premise of New Vegas (ALL 4 ENDINGS) revolves around the ending of the war between the Legion and NCR. This is the only point of the series I MIGHT allow to float simply because New Vegas has no canonical ending and COULD in theory be rubble by this point, but it's highly unlikely. Caesar wouldn't have flattened it. He said himself that it was to be his crown jewel. It's possible Lanius (Caesar's successor) may have as a show of power however. But again, it wouldn't make a ton of sense to ENTIRELY flatten it given how they operate in their other territories. NCR would NEED Vegas more than ever had Shady Sands been glassed. So they would never do anything to it. Mr. House LITERALLY set up a 200 year plan to save the city "Spirit in tact". So again, nope. The Yes Man ending....possibly? But VERY unlikely. The ending of Yes Man, they vow to protect Vegas with the army of robots. So unless they went entirely bat shit, I can't see it being glassed. Even the Brotherhood of Steel doesn't have the firepower to fight those Securitrons. The only faction left that might is the Institute, who are both on the opposite coast, and may or may not exist by this point depending which Fallout 4 ending they claim is true.
Third: The depiction of the Brotherhood of Steel is off. Prior to 2281, the NCR and Brotherhood of Steel (western branch. We won't get into the eastern branch for the purposes of this discussion) had fought a knock down, drag out battle on the west coast. By the time of the events of New Vegas, the BOS are so severely weakened that they're going extinct, similar to the Enclave. This can be seen by the chapter of the BOS we see in New Vegas. They've been trying to reach out for help and reinforcements for decades to no avail. The ONLY reason the NCR hasn't wiped them out by this point is that the BOS aren't dangerous fanatics like the Enclave, and that they're so beaten down by this point that the NCR would rather move resources to other things....like the Legion, New Vegas, etc. In the show, besides being WAY too powerful and organized than they should have been able to be, they also don't ACT like the BOS. They act like the Enclave. Fanatics that aren't just looking for technology to protect mankind from itself, but to USE said technology on the people. To get a good idea of what the BOS should be like (if you don't want to play the older isometric games), play Fallout 4. Very good depiction in an otherwise flawed game.
Hope this helps to summarize. The series could have potential in terms of lore, except it shits all over the lore of 3 games.
