They basically erased the entire lore of Fallout 2, New Vegas, and the NCR all in one go. But don't worry: Todd Howard assures us it's all canon.

Don't waste your time, if you were in fact thinking of doing so.

I'll post a rundown tomorrow. There's a lot that happened in it that seems fine, until you realize it's set in 2277. New Vegas was set in 2281. With Paradise Falls and New Vegas being gone, and the NCR basically being on the ropes, it highly contradicts existing lore. You'd need to have either played or read up on the isometric games, and played new Vegas to understand the full ramifications.

I watched a small breakdown of their timeline divergence, it looks like todd only cares about his lore and not 1, 2, and new vegas or the original origins of the great war being china backed into a corner and uses nukes as a rage quit after being defeated, i still don't get how they botched the ncr, my understanding is that they were never all that moral, the brotherhood were given a poor showing but not necessarily inaccurate, but it was politically motivated.

You really should give classic Fallout games a spin sometime, there are great Fixed Edition repacks you can find on rutracker.
