Edit: And don't tell me: "But there wasn't any saiyan puss left because the planet exploted and shit". He could have used the dragon nuts to wish for some monkey puss anytime. So no excuse.

But half-Saiyans are more powerful than full-blood Saiyans, so he only decided to race-mix after seeing the potential of Gohan.

Yeah, unless it is a legendary saiyan, and I believe it is only possible in pure saiyans, but then again, take a look at gohan, nowhere strong as goku who is "pure", I believe half saiyan might be stronger at the base level, but don't have the innate growing potential pure saiyans do, as vegeta once mention, he gets stronger everytime he fights, the same goes for goku.

Nah, Gohan has the same growth potential; he was the first to reach SS2 in the Cell Games, even before Goku and Vegeta. The only downside to half-Saiyans is that they don't have the innate drive to fight and grow stronger. Gohan would much prefer to read and study than to fight, but when he does fight he surpasses everyone.
