Horimiya is a little romantic comedy from the most recent anime season that when observed firsthand is interesting for its narrative “twists,” and that’s about it. The show centers primarily on two characters, whose names make up the portmanteau of the title.

Hori is a responsible, hard working, pretty popular girl who doesn’t spend time with classmates because she’s always busy taking care of her family. Miya is a quiet, bespectacled loner boy who is picked on for being a quiet bespectacled loner, yet turns out to actually resemble a bishonen rock star with his tattoos, long eyelashes, and homebrew ear piercings. The two become friends after Miya carries home Hori’s injured little brother, then romantically involved after they spend copious amounts of time together.

The first weird little twist the show introduced was two episodes back when Miya, himself prone to occasional violence toward friends and very occasionally toward those he sees as bullies, gets an urge to stick his foot on top of Hori’s head one evening after they started dating. This little act of “degradation” starts Hori down a path of wanting Miya to engage in various forms of BDSM by calling her names and even slapping her at times. This set the anime fans in the US on fire as they first were excited by fictional teenagers exploring the world of kinks, then angered because it was the boy striking the girl, then further enraged because the girl was “bullying” the boy into doing it in their ill-informed opinions. The fervor died down a bit and then...

In the most recent episode, Hori confronts Miya about other girls being interested in him and whether he has any interest back. Miya admits he’s actually not close with any girls other than her, and he’s closer with more guys. This becomes a brief, mildly paranoiac exchange where Hori tells Miya that if he cheats on her, it had better not be with a guy.

This event caused a Twittard meltdown of epic proportions as Hori was branded a homophobe and calls began for Hori’s dialogue to be fixed, and predictably, for Horimiya to be removed from all channels for this “blatant anti-LGBTQP” dialogue. The show isn’t terribly interesting or unique, but the idea it has a male character dominating a female character who is insisting upon it, and the female character makes statements that trigger faggots leads me to declare it the greatest anime series of 2021, and possibly the last twenty years. Heil Hori.

I used to not care, until I observed what you spoke. Its true.

When the war drums turn out to be war drums and not just a parade, then a man must speak, they're nasty faggots and their opinions and feels have never and will never.. matter to me.

Ofc, I'm also not likely to get triggered over an anime.

They've been kept in a place of subjugation throughout human history because everyone knew if you let them out of the closet they'll try to take over the entire house, and that's exactly what's happening.

They're narcissist whores by nature, they only respect force, anything less and they'll just try to manipulate their way into social dominance.

Faggots need to be kept in check at all times.

I've become very open and public in my hatred of faggots, and have lost friendships over it recently (three in the last two years), but I don't give a shit. I see them for the degenerate power-seekers they are, not the victims they pretend to be; I refuse to suffer their presence or influence.

I straight up bully them into feeling shame when possible. You're a male gamer with a female character, or an anime girl as your avatar? I'm taking a giant shit on you and fucking with you for being a weak internet crossdresser who obviously has no strong male influence, and demanding that you change it if you want to continue playing with my group, because looking at your female character and hearing a male voice is unacceptable. Surprisingly enough most of them actually yield to dominant pressure and change their character/avatar.

Bullying fucking works, they're conformist weaklings by nature and shaming them into compliance is effective. We're only losing that battle now because ALL faggots support faggotry and HALF of straights support it, so they're getting majority encouragement.

When all else fails, I remove myself from social situations where they're involved if I can't find a way to get rid of them, and am very direct about why if anyone asks. Faggots are intolerant of anything short of open-armed encouragement and they respect nothing, so I won't tolerate or respect faggots.

Good on ya for givin em one for. I hate that shit. never understood how males could do that and not feel that it was a feminine thing to do.

I must agree with you on the point that a failure to chastise these behaviors has landed us where we sit now.

In a third person game either you stare at a mans ass for hours like a faggot, or play as a woman like a tranny, there really is no winning.

I would never run a female avatar on xbox or in my profile pic but I don't think that coorelates with faggots, must guys with an anime girl profile pic I know are just /v/tards who ironically put their "waifu" or a smug anime girl in their profile pic because they like trolling and would be pleased to meet people with similar anime tastes.

We did kick 2 old friends out of our group this last year, one made the shit stained faggot flag his profile pic on xbox and the other had a hissy fits because we called the rioters niggers, not even our lefty friend with the niggerfaggot flag got uppity when we say nigger.

I do agree though we need to put faggots back in the closet and the mental patients back in the asylum, I feel wildly liberal in my opinions on how to treat trannies but apparently I'm mega hitler for calling a spade a spade when it comes to mental illness. These nuts are people, those who can be cured should be and those who can't should be shown compassion, compassion does not mean endless capitulation to sick people. This insignificantly small population is the lever by which a much larger group is trying to legalize their own sexual desires.

Fucking great one-liner here, dude. Saving this one.
