A machine would be ideal, but they have their limits in terms of understanding, they can help spot and remove some of the obvious (nudity, gore), but you need people at some point And you have degrees of horror. You might be able to stomach gang shootings, crimes, executions, war crimes, and such "field atrocities". But it doesn't mean that you'll be able to stomach rapes and murders, of children by fucking maniacs getting high on doing such things and knowing somebody will have to watch it...
