PSA: These extensions/userscripts won't work for much longer. YouTube is removing the API call that gets the dislike count soon. Without the API call, these extensions/userscripts will be useless. This API removal was announced when YT announced the count being removed from the video pages.
Wasn't there some extension was an overlay that basically let people comment on sites, viewable to anyone with that extension? Couldn't that be used for dislikes as well?
I think you are referring to the Dissenter extension. IIRC it was developed by Gab and it was quickly denigrated by the woke internet. Google and Mozilla blocked it and called it a tool "for right wing extremists to graffiti any web page". I don't know if it is still alive or available, but it relies on a large pool of users to be of any use anyway. There are other such tools for this kind of commenting that are very much alive, but in the wake of the Dissenter smearing, these other "any page" comment tools are probably all moderated and filtered by tyrannical SJW mods.
Very true. The FAQ says this and goes into other methods of getting the dislike count.
wasnt their something that would estimate the dislikes by comparing the like to view ratio? if the like to view ratio was incredibly low it would presume that there would be many dislikes.
