Call me weird for not understanding the English language, but I never got the use of the word 'prototypical' in this context. Maybe just use the word typical? If you think about it, there is nothing typical about a prototype. That's what makes it a prototype. It's one of a kind and bespoke.
There must be another use of the word, but I just think that's sort of an inconstancy with that word.
