I'm beginning to wonder if phys.org takes payments to push "new" stuff. Reverse osmosis works quite well and can be easily cleaned. I'm not sure what they mean by "the pores are not well defined". It just works. That's how well defined it is. RO water is comparable to deionized water in purity and is cheaper to produce.
