According to Bloom Energy’s 2026 Data Center Power Report, total U.S. data center load capacity is projected to reach roughly 150 gigawatts by 2028, nearly double the 80 GW from 2025. Power availability is redrawing the map of where these facilities get built, and states are scrambling to offer the right combination of cheap electricity, fast permitting and tax incentives to land them.
