From the post:

>The strongest wind gust recorded during Wyoming's Wednesday windstorm was a mind-blowing 144 mph. It occurred at the summit of one of the state's most notoriously windy places, Mount Coffin in Lincoln County. But if there's a wind gust in the mountains and no one's there to feel it, does it really set a record for the strongest wind in Wyoming? "It was recorded by a sensor along a ridgeline of an 11,000-foot mountain," said Cowboy State Daily meteorologist Don Day. "Would it likely stand well against any other wind records out there across the state? Yes, but you have to put an asterisk by it."

Oh... Yeah. Been there. Not literally but close enough. Large parts of Wyoming is actively hostile to human life.

There are weeks (if not months) a year that places where people actually live are colder than the artic circle... yet nothing shuts down. Everyone continues to go to work, live their lives.. Even if "work" is outside. It takes a special type to live somewhere like that.

I read about a place around there, it might be as far away as Coloroda, I don't remeber exactly where, but it is a valley in the middle of 4 mountains. The deepest part of the valley doesn't ever get any sunlight and the coldest air flows downhill into the lowest part, resulting in a place that has among the coldest temperatures on this planet.
