>China's military has run wargames that simulate battles near Mexico and Cuba in a worrying sign of Beijing's growing ambitions of global domination.
The People's Liberation Army simulated battles in Cuba, the Gulf of Mexico and the Caribbean Sea, along with the Sea of Okhotsk and Taiwan at an event in Xuchang, Henan province, according to local media.
The wargaming event was attended by 20 military units. One screen shown in the local media broadcast appeared to show opposing units, coloured red and blue, moving towards each other near the coasts of Cuba and Mexico.
Many of the blue-coloured units were seen near Houston, Texas, heading into the Gulf of Mexico. The red units, meanwhile, were seen in the Caribbean Sea.
