It's just show - there is no huge internet outage in Ukraine. The Russians keep the infrastructure intact - electricity, gas, water, food, internet. They don't fight against the Ukrainians, they just have a problem with the Ukrainian leadership to solve.

There's a demand now for internet access that's not passing terrestrially. From my understanding, unless the laser communication between satellites is operational, they will need base stations within the sight-line of the satellite. Not sure this will much help.
