im 100% for it. 2 things every kid in australia should be learning in school is first aid and swimming.

i teach first aid, its rare that i get kids but i do get to go in to schools sometimes and ill tell ya what im proud of every kid ive given a certificate to and i hope they never ever ever have to use what i teach but if they do i hope what they learned saves a life. ya even get the stories from time to time from real young kids that have picked up from somewhere how to call 000 and tell people whats going on.

ill probably never hear about it but one life saved is worth it. go learn that stuff. you may need it one day. anyone can do this stuff.

It's tragic that it's needed, but better than leave them with nothing. As said further in the thread, first-aid is a good thing. I read that over 100,000 lives in the UK could have been saved had someone with first-aid skills been available. How mental is that?
