A wippoorwill is a bird that flys around at night. They fly low around goats usually. They eat the flies n bugs around the goats. Old folklore called them goat suckers or chupacabra. Eventually the stories somehow developed into a large hairless vampire type creature. A biologist from mexico told me the stories, campfire stories.
