Birds are a critical part of the food chain and eco balance in an area, with massive bird die offs you have insect blooms that will wipe out crops. The communist uprising in china is a great example of this, the retards that killed off all the farms blamed the birds for ruining crops so they set out to wipe them out eventually resulting is a massive famine when insects over ran their fields.
