I like it. Smarter not harder. I know if you do enough wood/metal working for long enough you can pretty much just get it right but this shows some ways to "do it the quick/easy" way if you don't have those skills or time.

You may waste some material but less than being an amateur and screwing it up 10 times before you get it right.

Yeah, I have done that before. It's the same for measuring wires/cable too. You think you are getting the "same cut" but you are really introducing small inconsistencies with every cut and it gets worse and worse the more you do.

Jigs are not perfect but they do help a LOT.
