Perfectly timed to avoid 'pumpkin spice' season.
Oh dear, is that the weird stove with the back control panel? It was featured in the accident recently, and now I can't help but cringe whenever I see it lol
Mine's a glass top.
Kind of a weird design though, if things start blazing, how do you reach over fire to turn it off?
You move the skillet or pot first. Really though, you ideally don't want to set anything on fire in the first place. We start there.
Finish is a nice hue
No worries about heat from being above the range?
I don't know if it will be a problem. If it is, I'll rebuild it differently.
I don't see the heat being an issue, but you'll have to clean it and the spice bottles from grease buildup.
Looks really good. Nice work!
yah just let the wife cook under it for a few months then wipe the underside with a paper towel and see what the deal is, would be my approach.
Very nice!
I personally don't like my spices over my stove as they're more likely to get heated/cooled and moist from steam. I've had some go stale faster, but it was also probably bad ventilation (it was a rental).
Either way, well done on the wood!
Are you white? Why bother? We don't flavour our food remember.
Looks good, is she happy with it?
Yep!
Did you coat it with Turmeric/Curcuma? It's a good insect repellent.
Spicy!
I know this grain, I've definitely seen before... Don't say oak dammit, can't remember
I don't know. I found it next to a dumpster. https://poal.co/s/Woodworking/619720
That's snazzy!
