Finished my first knife handle as a Christmas present to my younger brother.

Did my best to bookmatch the wenge blanks on the band saw. Used 5 minute epoxy to adhere the blanks to the tang. Rough shaped on the band saw, scroll saw and spindle sander. Rest of the sanding was done with 3" discs connected to a drill and a little by hand.

Definitely made mistakes along the way and got impatient. Sanded progressively up to 2000 and then gave it a buffing. Has no finish. It was fun, won't try to rush it next time.

That's absolutely a work of art. The wood grain is gorgeous. Great work.

Well done. Here's to becoming even more skilled.

Looks a bit like zebra wood? Where do you get your knife blanks at?

A buddy just threw me some wenge so I used it. He's a luthier.
