Turns out I didn’t have a 3/8 hole saw bit to make the plugs, no matter… A 12mm Diamond hole saw did the job (pic8.co). Smelled like burnt mahogany, but did the job. There are six plugs in this picture, some more obvious than others. (pic8.co)

Table saws were a little harder to come by in those days.

I dare say that while there are power tools that would make this build easier, I do not own or have access to them. Thus there are gaps and delineations I find less than appealing. Overall, however, I’m pleased with the outcome.

I like working with hand tools when working with wood. Power tools can make a job faster but not more satisfying.
