Turns out I didn’t have a 3/8 hole saw bit to make the plugs, no matter… A 12mm Diamond hole saw did the job (pic8.co). Smelled like burnt mahogany, but did the job. There are six plugs in this picture, some more obvious than others. (pic8.co)

Here’s some more shots. https://pic8.co/sh/hNNbP5.jpeg https://pic8.co/sh/EO372O.jpeg Fish carvings added for scale (triceratops not to scale). https://pic8.co/sh/XJuBP8.jpeg

I can’t wait to meet her. Surely she’s going to have fun with it

This warmed my heart. Thanks nigger

The classic Moses Crib.

[–] 1 pt

Pretty sure his was much more hastily built from the reeds in which he was hidden… as the story goes.

Table saws were a little harder to come by in those days.

I dare say that while there are power tools that would make this build easier, I do not own or have access to them. Thus there are gaps and delineations I find less than appealing. Overall, however, I’m pleased with the outcome.

Nice, but does it float?

[–] 2 pts

And if it floats... Is it a witch?

[–] 1 pt

I mean… it’s wood, so yes. Does it take on water with a child on board? I’m going to wait a solid two years to test that. My gut says she’s gonna sink, first time building a boat.

Either way it looks great. Can always coat the bottom with fiberglass

Thanks. As long as my baby likes it I’ll be happy. If she doesn’t I’ll leave her to the wolves and try again.

Just kidding, I’m gonna love that kid even if she hates her crib.

Looks somewhat like a pram (yandex.com).

[–] 1 pt

Ya know, back in Camelot I had to push the pram a lot… apologies. Nobody needs Monty Python quoted at them.

Yes they do!

[–] 1 pt

Are you naming your son Moses?

[–] 1 pt

A rocking attachment will come in handy.

Those critter carvings are cool.

[–] 1 pt

That's cool, you gonna make some little oars to paddle it, or a tiny sail could be neat too.

[–] 0 pt

Rudder, oars, sail. Some day, for now a capacious cradle

I'm always on the lookout for a good woodworker

As the great prophet aphex twin (pbuh) once spake “dirty little boy”

I still have nightmares from the 'Windowlicker' video

How bout rubber Johnny?

[–] 0 pt

You contemplating a wooden dildo? Lol, just kidding..;)

[–] 0 pt

Um...I meant 'someone to work my wood'

[–] 1 pt

Woah! Very nice, your little munchkin will love it!

[–] 0 pt

Do you have a baby named Moses you want to get rid of?

[–] 0 pt

.... fit for a baby viking funeral?
