The attack occurred at Lake and State, squarely inside the Loop financial district and one of two former safe zones inside the city (Michigan Ave/Watertower Place being the other). This was a block away from Marshall's/Macy's where families with children used to walk along State to shop, go to the theater, or just enjoy the lights and some ice cream. Too many feral apes loose now to enjoy the city at night.
