Turner had originally planned to get around casting quotas by adapting the script so Alice and her daughter wouldn't appear on stage and are only referred to in the third person by other characters.

i rank the white cuckoldry of maine second to whatever is going on in minnesota.

all of these “theater” operations are only kept alive by heavy government subsidies and do-goody estate donations from the old people who yearn for days of yore. the revenue generated by a theater in ellsworth maine is no more than 3% of the funding needed to keep the lights on and the roof from caving in.
