You should take a look at just how many pipelines run through this country then ask yourself why this one matters? Overall they're extremely safe and cost efficient.

So what's the argument anyway - that the pipes could leak? Leak the oil back into the ground from where they extracted the oil?

It reduces the cost of oil which makes fewer incentives to find alternate sources of energy.

Which also keep oil companies in power.

All the pro pipeline stuff is paid propoganda by oil companies.

Pipeline makes it cheaper to get oil to the Texas refineries. This does not result in cheaper gas for americans. Most of that refined oil gets sold to other countries.

If they have to train and truck the oil down there it's more jobs for americans and canadians.

Considering that a large part of both your examples as well as the electric cars some seem to think are powered by magick fairy farts , are all made out of oil, your attempt at snark is invalid. Oil is used in far more then making fuel.
