I did enjoy that their were brief allusions and references to this moral panic of the times in stranger things on netflix.
You've mentioned that show before. I'd be tempted to watch it if I was more of a fan of episodic television than I am. I rarely watch anything at all.
It's a little bit different as entire seasons are released at once. Each episode flows and ties into the next. Iirc there is only like 8-10 episodes depending on the season and they all tie together w/ regards to their individual season. It really was conceived as something to be binged. Yeah it has a shitty moment here and there but overall... I was wildly impressed. Literally everyone on this site said no fuck that show and don't watch it and I can only assume they never watched it. told me to watch that shit and I don't regret it at all even slightly. I think part of my distrust was the 'hype' surrounding it. I literally hate the show 'the office' and while it was current I worked in an office full of assholes that loved 'the office'. I felt the same way about big bang theory... fuck that bazinga shit.
Dude, I never watched Friends or Seinfeld despite (or in part due to) everyone going crazy for them.
Maybe I'll give the show a try. I have to see if we still have an active Netflix account. I cancelled mine after the trial period expired.
