I tried to switch to wine but none of the games I want to play actually play, they get close or sometimes they run sometimes they don't. I am retarded so may be user error...
Do you have luck with lunix gaming

I've been using Linux for gaming since 2016. Admittedly, back then, if there wasn't a native port of a game you were pretty much sod out of luck getting it working with standard Wine, unless the game was really old and didn't use any intrusive middleware.
These days, pretty much the only games that won't work are games which use client side anti-cheat where the developers haven't enabled proton support.
So if you're mostly into the single player experience like me, you're laughing.
