Another feature nobody wants. Good job M$!
This shit is being done on purpose to aid criminals and government in personal/identity crime and spying.
Valve's OS can't come soon enough.
Usually features can be disabled or turned off. Any news on how to disable this? If we can kill OneDrive we should be able to kill this.
Not that I'm aware of yet. Certain industries would be unable to use windows if this can't be turned off.
I’m betting they release two versions then. One with and one without. They do this for the govt.
I’ve heard about customized Windows versions for big corporate customers. They’ve been doing that for decades.
Corporations made Microsoft disable automatic updates on their machines so they could vet them first before their entire fleet of machines got screwed over every “patch Tuesday”.
The new forced Microsoft Live login will be disabled for most corporate customers. They either don’t want their employees to have to login to their company laptop with a personal Microsoft account, or they’ll have them login to a company account (likely Octa) instead.
Microsoft can disable this AI crap and they’ll do it whenever a big corporate customer tells them to.
It's easy. You just install Linux. (Yes I know Linux foundation went woke but it's free software and woketards can't code anyway.)
Use gpedit.msc as administrator then go through to the settings and find whatever you want disabled or turned off.
Also you can usually find someone on a win 11 forum that has figured out a way to disable this sort of thing with a registry tweak; i.e., "blah blah = 0 sort of thing.
I keep a text file "win11 pro gpedit changes" that way if I mess something up I can look it up.
This may be a bigger request than I understand, but would it be possible for you to post a list of the routine things we should be changing? I’m a bit new to the more technical side of the windows environment.
Here's an example of using gpedit.msc:
Disabling the AI Agent Using Group Policy Editor
To disable the AI agent in Windows 11 using the Group Policy Editor, follow these steps: Accessing Group Policy Editor
Press Windows Key + R to open the Run dialog.
Type gpedit.msc and press Enter.
Navigating to the AI Settings
In the Group Policy Editor, navigate to:
Computer Configuration
Administrative Templates
Windows Components
Windows AI
Disabling the AI Agent
In the right pane, find the policy named Disable Settings agentic search experience.
Double-click on this policy to open its settings.
Select Enabled to disable the AI agent.
Click OK to apply the changes.
Final Steps
Close the Group Policy Editor.
Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
This process will prevent the AI agent from providing recommendations and automating tasks in Windows Settings. If you need to re-enable the agent later, follow the same steps and select Not Configured or Disabled instead.
After you've changed things in gpedit, go to your command prompt (run as administrator) and
type in: gpupdate /force
This will force gpedit to update your changes otherwise windows will ignore them.
I generally use grok to explain how to use gpedit most effectively.
I second @socksoncats wish. If you can't for some reason, no harm done but it also doesn't hurt to ask. :)
