That is so awesome. But now I have something in my eyes, dang it.
Giving a little piece of life to your friends and family like that is absolutely based. My family came over and helped me with some house renovations, after celebrating an impending second child from my sister, then we all got to go to church, me, my folks, and like half my extended family.
I’ve shared many times I’m colorblind. I’ve hated these reaction videos since they started 10 or so years ago.
These lenses do not magically make someone with one of the ‘opias all the sudden see color like a normal person. Having tried them and researched them, the best I can say is they screw with contrast. They simply do not correct colorblindness.
If these did what they pretend to do, I’d have multiple pairs. I’d also have these lenses over my computer screens, phones, etc etc. you’d also not be able to go a day without running into men wearing these. Life would be a lot easier with magic glasses. I wouldn’t have to use the colorblind pal app so often. I wouldn’t have to depend on hex codes in photoshop. Hell, I could even use my battery chargers without help, because I could tell when the light is green or red.
These videos are misleading and insincere.
Sorry for the rant, but when I heard about these glasses back in the day, I was so excited.
but when I heard about these glasses back in the day,
Is it possible that they improved their performance?
I'm going to research any developments because it's been many years since I paid any attention to them.
But I can tell you the effect was similar to turning colorblind mode on in some video games. First person shooter games were always hard for me to do well at because I'm too slow to react. Everything blends together. With colorblind mode on and set to your specific deficiency, the colors are edited to make them standout. Somewhat like adjusting contrast. So, the colors are different. Nowi can more easily see players on the other team because their uniforms more strongly contrast my team and the elements. This by no means has reversed my color blindness. I don't see like a normal person. The deficiencies are always there. If I put those glasses on again, and you show me colored squares with no context, I'm still not seeing like a normal person and likely can't tell you the color. Write the words STOP, BOY, GIRL on the off them, and now I can tell you which ones are RED, BLUE, PINK.
But I'm going to research. Maybe something new is out there.
