Sure, the shower was cold, and you had to use a bucket in the creek to refill it, but you got to run around the woods aaaaalllllll day long. 6 or 9 months camping wasn't an entirely bad thing growing up. Fresh food and hunting/trapping/fishing practice too!

When I was a kid I was over at a friends house with a bunch of other kids when my friend asked if we wanted to blow bubbles. All the kids cheered so out came a bucket and his parents passed around straws.

It was actually fun.
