> During the course of her life, Maria Kahle wrote numerous books, especially poems, often dedicated to her German people (as well as great Germans of the past and her present), to Christ, the Virgin Mary, Germans abroad and her homeland of Westphalia. She wrote an early poem of admiration towards Hitler shortly after the failed Putsch of 1923, for example, in her book 'Gekreuzigt Volk'. > After the war, Kahle's works were banned by the so-called liberators, she was not allowed to write at all for some time afterwards. Eventually, she again wrote children's and youth books and was a successful authoress yet again. On 15 August of 1975, she passed away. In her honor, there was a school in Schwäbisch Gmünd named after her during Hitler's rule, she also received a Westphalian Literature Award during that time as well. > Some of her most famous works are: Gegrüßet seist du Königin, Von Jesus und seiner Mutter, Gekreuzigt Volk, Die deutsche Frau und ihr Volk, Unser Westfalen, Deutsches Heldentum jenseits der Grenzen, "Volk, Freiheit, Vaterland“ and Deutsches Volkstum in der Welt.
