OK, when I quit wearing tennis shoes I have always worn boots now. The transition was when I first bought some adidas hiking boots. Kind of a cross between the two really. I have worn many different brands, back then I was sold on rocky but their quality went down but where always comfortable on first wear.

I own alot of quality boots now. I have only worn one brand for the last 3 years. Im no spring chicken and work physically outside. My feet finally started bothering me back then. I finally went to a redwing store, hated I couldnt buy them online.

Man their kingtoe is awsome. I have been wearing model 2426 fulltime now. Got to get the custom inserts also. Life changing. This particular model is made in USA. I get a year and a half of daily wear and the boot separates from the sole on the side. $250 is ok still for that long of comfort, Got a new pair today. On the third one.

Not the first man I've heard say that Redwings are amazing.

Redwing is good value. Wish they had more EH engineer boots

Shoes are made for the general shape of the foot and the gait, but they can't fully accommodate all of the subtle nuances unique to each person's feet and walking style.

Comfort seems like top priority to you so I'll chime in with this suggestion: If you can afford it, you can get custom-made orthopedic boots that fit ergonomically to your foot shape and are adjusted to accommodate your walking style. It'll be like wearing a second skin.

Comfort is high priority obviously, I thought everyone would think the same way. Price is an issue, thats where the $60 inserts come into it. I really dont want some weird ass custom-made orthopedic boots. There was an episode of Little House on the Prairie where Charles makes a custom pair. Im not that bad off.

I bought a pair of Kodiak women's boots, they run about $170 and I really love them. Sneakers just don't offer the support that quality boots do.
