I was mainly thinking encryption...but it would be open to our skill set.

You mean to create encryption algorithms? You have to be next-level smart for that sort of stuff - definitely beyond my skill set.

So we hire a few number theorists and check their back ground and their work as best as we can. My suggestion would be to start at Supersingular isogeny key exchange and add other post-quantum cryptographic algorithms for complexity.

It will definitely be interesting to see if supersingular isogeny graphs become standard. Though I think adding complexity would be redundant at this early stage - and it's only the key exchange mechanism, not the data encrypting part.
