When you start to look into the story of how Sesame Street came to be, it is quite interesting. Although Jim Henson had an initial hesitation of wanting to do a children's program because his worst nightmare was his company's work being considered just children's entertainment, he still came on board and helped with it because he found common ground with Joan Ganz Cooney on the basis that they both wanted to push the boundaries of television.
